Project Description

1st generation American student that paid homage to her grandfather for bringing the family out of Mexico.

Getting outside her comfort zone and finding her passion in business.

Content: The top 3 things I learned from this showcase were:

How proud she is of her family for moving to America to improve their lives. How BSC encouraged her to come “outside her comfort zone” and find her passions (Business). She has been accepted in the UC Pre Business program and will combine majors and minors in Marketing, PR, Communication and Business Administration.
I admire the transformation I have seen with Ashley during her 2 years at the BSC.

Culture: This project relates or connects to my family, background, peers, community or my own personal interests in these ways:

It enlightened me of the struggles immigrants still have when they come to the US. I admire her determination to pay homage to her grandfather who came to the presentation. I enjoyed listening to her presentation as she went back and forth from Spanish to English.

Metacognition: In reflection, one thing that I would have done differently during my journey with this showcase is:

I would have documented student’s progress during their preparatory process.

Social/Emotional: One thing I am most proud of by completing this showcase is:

I am very proud of Ashley for sharing her story, and seeing the confidence she has acquired from Junior to Senior year.
