Started an Environmental Science Club that met during FDEs
The club Provides a place for students to learn and explore interests without the stress of homework and grades
Teaches about the environment, sustainability, and our impact on the world
Provides students with the opportunity to earn Work-Based Learning hours
Most importantly our goal is to provide students with a space where they can pursue their passions and share their interests.
Planning meetings, this includes brainstorming ideas with members and officers
Creating lesson plans and gathering materials for labs. Taught lessons to fellow students on environmental science topics such as sustainability, history of the environmental movement, biomes and how living things interact, water, soil, and carbon footprints.
Running final ideas by officers and our teacher advisor, announcing plans to students via Remind and getting officers prepared.
The ESC encourages students to be creative and incorporate their personality into activities, such as our lesson on sustainability where we were all able to design and paint our own tote bags.
Some of the future activities they would like to do would be to help our community and culture are clothing drives, gardening, and continuing education on cultural issues.
The ESC hopes to continue to provide a place for students to expand their knowledge and share activities they are passionate about. They encourage all students to give us ideas for meeting and learning activities. Hopefully the club will continue throughout the years at Butler Tech with the help of our wonderful officers.
The ESC was and will continue to be welcoming for everyone, regardless of their differences. They welcomed new members and nonmembers throughout the years with open arms.
