• Presenting different ideas to create an enriched environment for the goats and sheep at NSC
• Explain the resources that we need to enrich the environment of the goats and sheep
• Showing our goat yard and explaining what we envision for the area
We have discovered that some of the behaviors that we are observing with the animals are due to their current living environment. It is necessary in the plans to have cooling and heating systems in place. In this process we have learned the different personalities of each animal which will help us in creating the perfect environment for them to thrive.
Georgia:
“I have always found interest in goats and building the proper enrichment for them.”
Abby:
“I just like goats and want them to have a better life, health and safe.”
Angelina:
“My cousin had goats and I fell in love with them so when I saw the goats here it made me want to interact with them and give them more stuff to play on.”
We should have talked to our lab instructor to understand the blueprints better for the new building when looking at different enrichment environments. We think that Dot would have benefited from one on one instruction because of her attitude. She needs to have this because she is not very focused when other people or animals are around.
Angelina and Abby:
“We are most proud to be able to say we are going to develop an enriched environment for the goats through community donations and candy sales.”
Georgia:
“I am most proud of the amount of progress we have shown and the opportunity we have to give our goats and sheep a better way at life.”
