Project Resources

  • We are working with Workforce Services and Adult Education for tours and coaching. We have a team soliciting clothing donations from Rethreads, consignment shops, and Dress for Success. We have a team soliciting makeup donations from supply houses, Ulta, etc. We have a team soliciting hair product donations from various supply houses and salons. We are bringing in Advisory Board members to help with makeovers.

Project Description

The 8 residents of Juliette’s Hope (home for women in recovery), will share their stories from before recovery (life in addiction), after recovery, living at Juliette’s Hope, and finally, the impact that the makeover has had on them. Makeovers will include haircolor, cuts, makeup, and clothing Residents will also receive a tour of our Adult Education to learn about how to further their education, along with Interview Coaching from our Workforce Services team. Students will share the impact of this project via video or some other project of their choice.

The goal of this product is to impact, not only the ladies from Juliette’s hope, but our students in the following ways:

  • Content – students will share their talents and skills in the area of Cosmetology to make this happen.
  • Culture – students will learn about the drug culture, its impact on participants and their families.
  • Social-Emotional – students will feel empathy toward these ladies and we are hopeful that it will impact their outlook on drugs.
  • Metacognition – this project gives our students a lot to think about. Many can relate this topic to their own families and friends.

We are hoping to 1. discourage drug use among our students and 2. To give hope to students whose families are affected by this epidemic and give them hope that recovery is possible.
