Project Description

Students had to research a potential future career, explain why they chose to go to Butler Tech as it relates to their career aspirations, list their career goals and talk about what obstacles may get in the way of attaining their career goals.

Content: The top 3 things I learned from this showcase were:

In order to design my Wired layout I learned how to do a magazine layout in Photoshop as well as other features of the software. I also learned about what it takes to become an interior designer.

Culture: This project relates or connects to my family, background, peers, community or my own personal interests in these ways:

I want to become an interior designer as a result of watching HGTV with my family. I always enjoyed redecorating and rearranging my bedroom. I helped my parents sketch and plan for a remodeling project in our house.

Metacognition: In reflection, one thing that I would have done differently during my journey with this showcase is:

Before I presented my showcase I did not realize that I would be presenting in front of lots of people and I thought it would be a quick 5 minute presentation and I would be finished. Instead I had many people watching and I ended up presenting multiple times. I think next time I will take it more seriously and prepare more.

Social/Emotional: One thing I am most proud of by completing this showcase is:

I was proud that I got a lot of good comments after my presentation. People commented on how well spoken I was and I was asked to repeat my presentation multiple times.
