Project Description

A group of students designed and built an adaptive bike for a family friend with Cerebral Palsy and mobility challenges. The goal was to create a bike that would enable him to ride independently, fostering a sense of self-reliance and freedom.

Goals

The goal was to modify the bike to include a solid backrest for Kyle’s support and comfort. Additionally, the design incorporated parent-controlled steering at the rear and features to make pedaling easier for him.

"This project really means a lot to us because a cousin of mine has Cerebral Palsy also and once he got his bike you could tell he really enjoyed it. Kyle tested out a bike, right when he got on you could tell he was super excited. This project is different in so many ways including being able to help someone we know personally and know how it will affect them when they get this. Its really exciting being able to see this project come together and starting to see the final product."
